Super-Kamiokande

We are studying neutrino oscillations, searching for supernova relic neutrinos, and searching for proton decay in the Super Kamiokande experiment and the T2K experiment.

In Super-Kamiokande, gadolinium has been added from 2020 to improve performance, and new research has begun. In the T2K experiment, a new neutrino detector will be constructed in 2022 to study neutrino oscillations more precisely.

Hyper Kamiokande

Hyper-Kamiokande is under construction to significantly advance research on neutrino oscillations, proton decay, and neutrino astronomy. We are conducting research to optimize the design of detector and maximize the physical sensitivity.

Development of new experimental technologies

We are developing new technologies for future experiments. We are planning to develop a tracking detector using organic liquids and a detector for searching for dark matter and double beta decay. We will also continue to develop photomultiplier tubes and semiconductor photodetectors.

Super B Factory

In the Belle II experiment conducted at the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK), we are also searching for new physics through precise measurement of flavor physics.
